This year’s Materials Science Colloquium took place in Lech am Arlberg from April 13–16, organized for the fifth time by the Department of Materials Science. In addition, it marked the 70th anniversary of the Physical Metallurgy Colloquium and was held for the 45th time at the Hotel Krone in Lech am Arlberg. During the opening evening, in recognition of Leoben’s connection to the region, the tourism association and the host gifted a painting and a woodcut along with commemorative plaques. This year’s colloquium focused on the theme “AI in Materials Science” and attracted numerous new speakers from various universities and research partners. The nearly 50 participants were able to discuss scientifically in-depth presentations and initiate new collaborations in a relaxed atmosphere.
