In September 2025, Nina Schalk from the Chair of Functional Materials and Materials Systems has been appointed as Editorial Board Member of the Journal Surfaces, published by MDPI. Surfaces is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to all aspects of surface and interface science, ranging from fundamental studies to applied research. As a member of the Editorial Board, Nina Schalk will contribute her expertise to shaping the journal’s scientific direction and ensuring the quality of published research. Surfaces was founded in 2018 and has an impact factor of 2.9.
