At the annual spring meeting of the DPG Condensed Matter Section in Dresden (March 8–13, 2026), Verena Maier-Kiener was reappointed for another three-year term as the Austrian representative on the Working Group on Metal and Materials Physics (AG MM), a position she has held since 2024. Within the working group, chaired by Astrid Pundt and Rebecca Janisch, she actively contributes to shaping the scientific program of the annual DPG conference and to further developing the activities of the working group.
Furthermore, during the annual TMS conference (March 15–19, 2026), she was elected as the new JOM Advisor to the TMS Nanomechanical Behavior Committee (NMBC). In this role, she will share responsibility over the next three years for coordinating the JOM (Journal of Materials) special issues related to the scientific activities of the NMBC.
