Award of the title of Adjunct Professor to Peter Hosemann

On Friday, December 19, 2025, the last academic celebration of the year took place in the Erzherzog Johann-Auditorium of the Montanuniversität Leoben, where important awards were presented in a festive setting. Particularly pleasing for the Department of Materials Science was the awarding of the title of Adjunct Professor to Peter Hosemann. Peter Hosemann is a graduate of Materials Science at the Montanuniversität Leoben and has been a full professor at the University of California, Berkeley, USA since 2018. Peter Hosemann has been researching materials for nuclear applications for about 20 years and is the author of more than 250 publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals receiving major impact in this field. Peter Hosemann has maintained intensive cooperation with the Montanuniversität for many years (e.g. with the Chairs of Functional Materials and Material Systems, Materials Physics, and Phyiscal Metallurgy). Several students and scientists from the Montanuniversität completed guest research stays in his research group. Since 2009, he has been giving his lecture "Materials for Nuclear Applications" at the Montanuniversität Leoben, which is regularly attended by numerous students and is always excellently evaluated.
