The Computational Materials Science from the Department of Materials Science of the Montanuniversität Leoben, together with Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH, organized the 4th Austrian-German Workshop, “Computational Materials Science on Complex Energy Landscapes.” These workshops take place every 3 years with the exception of the Corona year 2021. This year’s edition took place during the week of January 15-19, 2024, in a beautiful Hotel Gasteiger Jagdschlössl in Kirchdorf in Tirol. The organizers welcomed over 50 researchers from Technische Universität Wien, ESI Leoben, Materials Center Leoben Forschung GmbH, University of Stuttgart, Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulation (ICAMS, Bochum) and Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM, Berlin), in addition to numerous participants from the two organizing institutions. All participants enjoyed a dense lecture program with over 40 lectures, intensive scientific discussions as well as an informal exchange of knowledge and ideas.
